Art Deco Belt Buckle in Silver Filigree with Garnets and Turquoise – 1930s/40s. Splendid and rare high belt buckle for women in two mirror-image parts, dating to the Art Deco / Retro period (1930s/1940s). The piece is entirely handmade in finest 925 sterling silver filigree and fits perfectly at the center, forming an elegant geometric oval-pointed (navette) design. The craftsmanship is enriched with natural gemstone inlays: 6 dark red garnets with a faceted cut (diameter about 5 mm) 5 cabochon-cut turquoise stones (diameter about 3 mm) On the back, both elements feature the original wide loops for the strap or belt. The piece bears three period hallmarks, including the rectangular maker's mark "H2" (attributable to one of the very first historic registered jewelry workshops). Total weight: 37 grams. Dimensions (closed): 8.50 cm (length) x 5.60 cm (width). Conditions: Excellent vintage condition, intact structure and perfectly functioning clasp. It preserves its splendid and original dark patina of time that enhances the openwork craftsmanship. Not chemically cleaned to preserve authenticity, it has no scratches.
