These are an unusual find. Vintage brass shallow spice dishes/bowls that extremely lightweight. They almost feel like you are lifting up a piece of cardboard. An incredible and huge cast iron grocers scales. I cannot date the scale exactly (although I would imagine these are early 1900s) as even with research, I am not sure of the exact makers. The scale is extremely heavy and has an enormous metal pan. The 3 weights are manufactured by Siddons but I believe that these have been added to the scale and did not originally form part of it although they do work in terms of look and feel and weight. single intact and orignal historically important c. 1920's neoclassical style ornamental cast iron balustrade panel salvaged from the extant cadillac-palace theater located in downtown chicago. the intricately designed panel features an unusual centrally located cartouche with elaborate scrollwork and a fleur-de-lis motif. the playful festoon or swag surrounding the cartouche is accentuated with two opposed circular floral rosettes, ribbons and acanthus leafage. contains a brushed metal finish.
