Chalkwell Auctions has been trading in the Southend area for almost 25 years, and over this period has built up a reputation as an important regional auction house in the South of England, aided by their re-location in 2010.

They host auctions of antiques, fine art, and jewellery twice monthly, and have substantial experience in conducting estate sales. All Chalkwell sales are open to online bidding, with their catalogues reaching tens of thousands of potential buyers around the world.

Auctioneer Trevor Cornforth has almost 50 years’ experience in the antiques business, and has substantial expertise in the field of Chinese and Tibetan art works. He has written specialist publications on Chinese Snuff Bottles (Schiffer Publishing, USA), which have been widely cited in sales catalogues. Mr. Cornforth also writes a column for the Antiques Trader newspaper, and has appeared on numerous antiques television programmes. Chalkwell Auctions was recently featured on the BBC’s ‘Celebrity Antiques Road Trip’.
