Adam Partridge, whom viewers will recognise from his numerous television appearances, is one of the best known auctioneers and valuers of antiques and fine art in the UK. In 2008, he opened Adam Partridge Auctioneers in Macclesfield, which has grown to become the leading independent auction house in the North West of England. In 2011, they opened a second sale room in the heart of Liverpool’s vibrant Baltic Triangle quarter.
Adam Partridge offers free valuations, and their auctions are streamed live online, giving bidders from further afield the opportunity to participate in their sales. Recent auctions have attracted around 700 registered internet bidders, with around 40% selling online. They cater to a wide range of clients including museums and galleries as well as private collectors.
Some notable sales include £89,000 for an 18th-century violin by Neapolitan maker Giuseppe Gagliano, a world record for the maker; £86,000 for a large pair of c.1876 exhibition quality Elkington & Co cloisonné trumpet vases; and, in 2015, £11,000 for a piece of ambergris.
