Opera glass signed by Lemaire, over 130 years old! Absolute rarity—excellent condition! In the Belle Époque (ca. 1870–1914) there was a strict division of labor in Paris. Opticians near the opera bought optical raw works and lenses almost exclusively from the world-leading French giants of the time: Lemaire Fabriquant (Paris): The by far largest and most important manufacturer of opera glass mechanisms and optics of that era. He supplied almost all luxury shops in Paris This opera glass impresses with its extremely well-preserved condition and a razor-sharp view as well as magnification. The case is made of gold-plated brass—rests on the tubes and oculars are wrapped with iridescent mother-of-pearl—no defects! Includes original leather case—top preserved, with brass clasp gilded and the trademark: the bee!—set with red velvet and silk. Focusing is buttery smooth and easy to operate! The oculars and lenses can be easily removed for cleaning! Dimensions approximately extended: Height: 7.5 cm Width: 9.5 cm Depth: 3.5 cm A rarity and a very special opera glass for enthusiasts and collectors!
