Yves Saint Laurent (French, founded 1961) and Alixandre Furs (American, founded 1923). Vintage genuine fur coat, likely mink, made in late 1970s - 1980s. Grey brown fur with off-center single button closure at neck, two hook and eye closures near waist, two side seam pockets, interior waist tie, and hidden interior pocket. Alixandre Furs label to interior neck, YSL branded brown silk/satin lining to interior. Size not marked. Approximate dimensions: Shoulders: 15 1/4 x chest: 19 x center back: 47 in. (38.7 x 48.3 x 119.4 cm.) Provenance: From the Gaston Collection, acquired through generational transfer from the Estate of Louise Frederick Hays (1881-1951), wife of Senator James E. Hays; the Estate of Louise Frederick Hays Gaston and Dr. Joseph H. Gaston III; and the Estate of Dr. J. Harper Gaston and Dr. Anne Elizabeth Hendrick Gaston. The multi-generational collection was housed at two notable Georgia homes�Twin Oaks (a National Register Greek Revival estate in Greenville, Georgia and Rhodes Hall (the �castle on Peachtree Street� that functioned a Georgia State Archives from 1930-1965)
