Traditionally made from wood, Punu masks are characterized by an elegant stylization of the face, careful attention to hairstyles, and a often serene expression. They are linked to ceremonial practices and to the cultural life of Punu communities. This piece highlights the finesse of woodwork and the refined aesthetics inherent to the Punu sculptural tradition. The proportions of the face, the details of the hairstyle, and the sobriety of the volumes bear witness to a craftsmanship passed down through generations.
