Wilhelm Wolff - Table service for 6 (6) - Silverplated - Bread plates

Beautiful set consisting of 6 round-shaped bread plates, made in Germany in silver-plated metal by Wilhelm Wolff. The plates are in excellent condition, with some scratches due to use, as shown in the photograph. They suit their modern and refined design for any table, adding a touch of great class. Diameter 15.5 cm. Wilhelm Wolff Metallwarenfabrik was founded in 1894 in Pforzheim, a renowned German jewelry and metallurgical hub, quickly distinguishing itself in the production of home and luxury items in silver-plated metal and nickel silver (Neusilber). In the early 20th century the company underwent strong economic and corporate growth, becoming Wilhelm Wolff AG and expanding in 1920 with the acquisition of Badische Metallwarenfabrik. Its creations rode the main artistic currents of the era, achieving great commercial success first with the fluid and floral lines of Jugendstil (Art Nouveau) and later with the geometric motifs typical of Art Déco. During the 1930s the company changed its structure again to Wolff Wilhelm GmbH, also becoming the successor of the Berlin-Karlsruher industrial complexes. Despite the enormous devastation that struck the city of Pforzheim and its historic industries during the bombardments of World War II, the company managed to reorganize in the post-war period as Wilhelm Wolff KG. Production continued, adapting to modern markets for several decades, until the final closure in 1980. Today, the precious vintage tableware items signed Wolff remain highly sought-after objects by collectors and antique experts worldwide.
