Highly decorative and distinctive wall decor: An Aztec calendar, an eternal calendar, or Sun Stone. This calendar, from the 1960s, is made of a resin composite with pieces of malachite stone in various green and teal shades. The original stone is about 500 years old. Wikipedia: 'The Aztec calendar is the calendar system used by the Aztecs as well as by other Pre-Columbian inhabitants of Central Mexico. The calendar comprises a 365-day cycle for the year called Xiuhpohualli (year-count) and a 260-day cycle for rituals called Tonalpohualli (day-count). The two cycles together formed a 52-year century, sometimes also referred to as a round calendar. The calendar year began with the first appearance of the Pleiades (the Seven Sisters) in the east, just before dawn. The calendar is in good condition. At the spot where the iron hook is attached there are two small oxidation spots. This is negligible in the overall picture. At the back there is some wear in the velvety finish layer. A special conversation piece and eye-catcher! The calendar is carefully packed and sent by registered mail.
