About Waechtersbach: Founded in 1832 in Wächtersbach, Hesse (Germany), the Waechtersbach manufactory is a historic ceramics house, renowned for its decorative earthenware and colorful pieces. It has traversed the great periods of German design, from Art Deco to the creations of the 1950s-70s, and its objects are today highly sought after by collectors. Floral-relief pieces like this are particularly appreciated. Characteristics: Waechtersbach glazed ceramic, relief poppy design Cream dial with Arabic numerals and crackle border Brass bezel and opening bezel with hinge Mechanical movement (wind-up key) Original black hands “Made in Germany” mark visible on the dial Diameter: about 28-29 cm Condition: Glossy enamel, bright colors. Cracking on the dial, typical for this type of antique clock, and a few minor signs of use, no cracks, no chips. The clock has been tested and runs but is sold without a winding key.
