At the center of this ring shines a ruby of an intense red colour. As if animated by an inner fire, the gemstone captivates the eye. Two high-quality brilliant-cut diamonds of a pure white colour flank the center stone and accentuate its radiance. “Rubies are particularly suited for young lovers […] In general, they are considered the symbol of the most passionate and ardent love,” wrote the illustrated women’s magazine “Bazar” as early as November 1886. With its precious ruby, this ring is thus a beautiful alternative to the diamond solitaire as an engagement ring. Framed by two diamonds—traditionally the gemstones of eternity—there is surely no more beautiful statement to be found in the form of jewelry! The ring follows the classic design of the trilogy ring: Rings with three gemstones arranged across the finger were common in times past. They were all the rage in the late Victorian era, when they were usually set in yellow gold. In a new, simpler form and mostly in white gold, they came back into fashion in the final decades of the 20th century. This ring also dates from that period. We date it to around 1970. The quality of the gemstones has been confirmed by an independent appraisal that we commissioned in Idar-Oberstein. The ruby most likely originates from Thailand.
