Vintage Sapphire and Diamond Ring in White Gold, c. 1970

The ring presented here is a typical ring from the years around 1970. What is special about many pieces of jewellery from this period are the ever new and often unusual designs: as variations on certain themes and motifs from the history of jewellery - here the theme of the "trilogy ring" - the designers of that era often found surprising solutions that clearly stood out formally from the jewellery creations of the previous decades. Three dark blue sapphires form the radiant centerpiece of this ring. Their number stands for the common path from the past through the present into the future. A total of 24 diamonds of fine color and very good clarity are set on two levels on the ring face. A cool, shiny ring band in white gold, which supports the ring face on delicate struts, makes the arrangement into a ring. The combination of sapphire and diamonds is a classic that is particularly suitable as a love gift or engagement ring. The blue sapphire symbolizes fidelity and the diamonds can be read as stones of eternity. The ring was created in Germany. We discovered it here in Berlin. It comes with a detailed appraisal from the German Gemstone Appraisal Society in Idar-Oberstein.
