This 18-karat gold ring wraps around the finger as an elegantly rising band. At its center sits a navette-cut diamond weighing approximately 0.34 carats, whose elongated shape—tapered to a point at both ends—defines the design. On either side of the center stone, ten brilliant-cut diamonds each—totaling approximately 0.40 carats—flank it. Arranged in a delicate staggered pattern, they first follow the contours of the center stone before tapering off into an engraved groove. They make the ring face appear as a self-contained, sparkling structure. The ring’s design is characteristic of the jewelry aesthetic of the 1980s. It is a compact, sculpted gold structure in which gold and diamonds are combined to form a powerful overall shape. The gently rising shoulders draw the eye to the navette diamond, while the side brilliant-cut diamonds echo its almond-shaped silhouette and extend it in the opposite direction. The warm yellow of the high-karat gold creates a striking contrast to the sparkle of the diamonds. The ring itself is not round but shaped like a stirrup, with a ring band that is flat at the bottom. This design feature prevents the ring from rotating on the finger. The ring was crafted by Eduard G. Fidel, a Pforzheim-based manufacturer that has made a name for itself particularly with high-quality diamond, memory, and wedding rings. With its confident presence, the ring exudes timeless elegance thanks to its clear symmetry and the emphasis on the diamonds’ brilliance. The ring found its way to us here in Berlin.
