Vintage Bracelet with Sapphires & Diamonds in White Gold, c. 1965

The bracelet presents an elegant gemstone cluster. The stones appear almost randomly scattered, yet they are carefully arranged and coordinated. Ten blue sapphires weighing a total of around six carats and sixteen white diamonds with a total weight of just over two carats enhance their effect with their contrasting play of colors. The sapphires are designed in an elongated drop cut, while the diamonds are partly marquise-cut and partly brilliant-cut. They create the cosmic look that many pieces of jewellery from the 1960s display. The gemstones are held in place by prongs typical of the time, the ends of which are rounded like spheres and add further sparkling highlights to the bracelet. The interplay of high-quality gemstones and cool white gold creates a piece of jewellery that exemplifies the design language of the swinging sixties. The bracelet comes with a detailed appraisal from the German Gemstone Appraisal Society in Idar-Oberstein.
