Set of miniature houses, accessories and figurines, typically used for arranging rural dioramas. In the tradition of Sicilian craftsmanship (famous, for example, for the historic 19th-century settings in Caltagirone), wild cork and bark are the quintessential inexpensive materials used to recreate rural villages, mountains, dry-stone walls and characteristic cliffs. The houses feature plastered walls in warm tones (ochre yellow and orange) and pitched roofs that closely recall the old farmhouses and the rural villages of the Sicilian hinterland. The detail on the left with the hens, the rooster and the ladder is perfect for representing the everyday life of rural living and the trades of a bygone era, a core and indispensable element of Sicily.
