Vincent van Gogh (1853–1890) (after) - "La Nuit étoilée, 1889"

- Vincent van Gogh (after), offset print on heavyweight smooth satin paper (approx. 300gsm, refers to paper thickness/density). - Stamp on verso. - Condition: excellent. Never framed, never exposed. - Size: 60 x 80cm. - Vincent van Gogh’s “La Nuit étoilée (The Starry Night), 1889” is one of the defining masterpieces of modern art, transforming the nocturnal landscape into an extraordinary vision of colour, movement and emotional intensity. Painted during Van Gogh’s period at Saint-Rémy, the composition is dominated by a turbulent blue sky in which stars and a glowing crescent moon appear as radiant yellow orbs surrounded by spiralling halos of light. Sweeping bands of cobalt, ultramarine, white and turquoise create an almost cosmic rhythm above the quiet village, while the monumental dark cypress rises dramatically through the foreground, linking earth and sky. Rather than recording the night literally, Van Gogh turns nature into an expression of inner experience through energetic brushwork, exaggerated colour and rhythmic form. The painting connects naturally with Monet, Gauguin, Cézanne, Toulouse-Lautrec and Seurat, while its emotional intensity and liberated handling of colour would profoundly influence Matisse, Kandinsky, Expressionism and generations of modern artists. This work has exceptional decorative appeal for admirers of Vincent van Gogh, Post-Impressionism, nocturnal landscapes, starry skies, expressive colour and iconic museum masterpieces. Its spectacular combination of deep cobalt and midnight blue, turquoise, luminous yellow, white, dark green and flashes of warm orange makes it especially suitable for an elegant living room, bedroom, dining room, study, luxury apartment or refined eclectic interior. It can sit beautifully beside natural wood, walnut, velvet, brass, ceramics, travertine, marble, vintage pieces, Eames furniture, Gio Ponti references, Scandinavian design and atmospheric designer lighting, creating a powerful dialogue between art, colour, nature and interior design. With its dramatic sky, unmistakable swirling movement and universal emotional appeal, “La Nuit étoilée” is also a distinctive gift for lovers of Van Gogh, astronomy, night landscapes, European art and museum-inspired interiors. For those interested in Van Gogh, Monet, Gauguin, Cézanne, Seurat, Toulouse-Lautrec, Matisse, Kandinsky, Picasso, Klimt, Rothko, Hopper, Hockney, Warhol, Basquiat, Haring, Banksy, Shepard Fairey, Kaws, Koons and Karl Lagasse, this image offers a compelling combination of movement, colour, emotion and timeless modern-art energy. Its instantly recognisable identity fits perfectly with today’s trend for curated interiors, where fine art prints can live naturally beside vintage design, luxury objects, Cartier, Rolex, Patek Philippe, Chanel, Dior, Gucci, champagne, rare collectibles, art and design books, Lego, Star Wars, Pokémon and other icons of style, creativity and collecting. A powerful, luminous and unmistakably Van Gogh composition, ideal for bringing drama, colour, artistic sophistication and the extraordinary energy of one of the world’s most celebrated paintings to any interior.
