Vide poche - Vincent Decat - France - Stage One - Purple

"My pieces are designed to be companions rather than possessions. I give my objects organic and animated characteristics, hoping that people grow attached to them as to pets." Vincent Decat is a Paris-based artist-designer, a graduate of the Design Academy Eindhoven, who explores the boundaries between design and sculpture. He considers an object's durability not only through its materials, but above all through the emotional bond it evokes. By making his objects almost alive, they become companions that one must take care of, keep, and cherish. Stage One is imagined as a living being: it is born, grows and evolves. Inspired by embryos, it embodies evolution and becomes a living element to which one becomes attached. This piece was 3D printed and then handcrafted-painted.
