Title: Serie 13 Artist: Victor Vasarely Technique: screenprint and embossing on paper Style: Op Art Signature: signed in pencil Artwork size: 20 x 15.2 cm Sheet size: 38 x 28 cm Condition: Excellent condition. Small foxing "Vasarely inherited the metaphysical passion of his precursors and pushed their theories to their ultimate consequences. First, he gives a new meaning to the work. He fights against "the myth of the unique piece" and wants the artwork to be multiplicable, reproducible, without losing the beauty of the original. His ideal is the pre-fabricated multiple masterpiece: "I keep all my original small formats. I turn them into functional-tableaux, exhibition-functional tableaux, wall functions, fresco, stained glass, tapestry. I increase by one dimension and I develop my abstractions in space..." Pushing further, I ensure, on the screen, the balance of movement and time." [Imbre Pan]
