Stunning homogeneous 19-volume set of Victor Hugo’s Works, published by Ernest Flammarion editions in Paris in the period-typical in-18 format (approximately 12 x 18.5 cm). This important literary series was printed in the mid-1920s (the key volumes bear workshop marks dated August and October 1924 from the famous print shops E. Grévin in Lagny and Hemmerlé in Paris). Quality period bindings: Each volume is dressed with an elegant half-brown morocco (chagrin/basane). The smooth backs are richly decorated with gold tooling in a romantic taste, with clear title and volume labels.
