This exceptional raw Lapis Lazuli specimen comes from a high-quality source and displays the typical, coveted features of this legendary stone. The intense, deep-blue color – a hallmark of genuine Lapis Lazuli – has been made particularly visible in the pictures by slightly moistening the stone. The water accentuates the depth of color and reveals the stone's complex structure and beauty, which is often hard to discern in dry rough stones. Across the surface you will find numerous gold-shlit pyrite inclusions, embedded like sparkling specks in the blue. These metallic gleaming patches give the stone not only a special elegance optically, but are also a natural quality feature of genuine Lapis Lazuli. The whitish to cream-colored areas consist mostly of calcite – a natural component of the rock that forms striking contrasts to the blue matrix. The combination of rich blue, golden pyrite veins, and light calcite veins creates a harmonious yet lively overall image. In this rough state the stone is excellent for further processing – for example as a grinding blank for jewelry or decorative objects – but also as an impressive collectible for mineral enthusiasts.
