Barreled in 1974 and bottled in 1991, this 17-year-old bourbon was produced specifically for the Japanese market. Only a very limited quantity was released, making this a particularly sought-after vintage Van Winkle bottling. The whiskey was bottled under the direction of Julian Van Winkle III and originated from the Boone distillery. The distinctive dripping red wax capsule is especially notable and was possible because this bottling was produced for export to Japan.
