Valentino Vago (1931-2018) - Composizione astratta "Orizzonte"

An authentic masterpiece of Italian abstract lyricism, realized in 1965 – a year of great historical significance and highly sought after by collectors – by the master of light Valentino Vago (1931-2018). This exceptional mixed-media work perfectly embodies the historical moment in which Vago abandoned figuration to embrace the Infinite, dedicating himself to a pure exploration of spatial depth and autonomous light. A central, vibrant, and textural vertical yellow stripe stands out boldly against a deep black void in the upper part and on the flanking areas in earthy tones, introducing his famous concept of “Horizons.” Internationally often juxtaposed with the spiritual atmospheres of Mark Rothko, this historic and early 1965 work represents a rare and prestigious find for seasoned modern-art collectors and elite galleries.
