Roosevelt and British Prime Minister Winston Churchill. This document, which was a forerunner of the United Nations Declaration, was designed in a context where the United States had not yet officially entered the conflict, but where the danger of “Nazi tyranny” was already present and imminent. The Atlantic Charter laid the groundwork for a post-war world, focused on principles of international cooperation and respect for human rights. It also set a precedent for multilateralism, proposing a vision of a world order based on nations working together. Shipping by la poste
