Undated (ca. 1652-1674) St. Patrick Halfpenny. Martin 1-B, W-11540.

Undated (ca. 1652-1674) St. Patrick Halfpenny. Martin 1-B, W-11540. Rarity-4. Large Letters. VF-25 (PCGS). The Emerald Coast collector's Large Letters St. Patrick halfpenny, and it is a thoroughly appealing VF example with dominant medium brown color to satiny, glossy surfaces. There is some old, inactive surface build up around and within many of the design elements, of no detriment and a positive, in fact, since its presence is further evidence of this coin's originality. Traces of a light brassy-gold splasher are plainly evident in the center of the crown, also lightly so in the field below it and into the very top of the harp. Moderately, yet evenly worn with all major design elements remaining appreciable to bold from a well centered and nicely executed strike. An old, dull scratch on the crown is easily overlooked during in-hand appreciation and is of little concern on otherwise smooth, virtually unmarked surfaces. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 46. NGC ID: AUAS. Click here for certification details from PCGS. Image with the PCGS TrueView logo is obtained from and is subject to a license agreement with Collectors Universe, Inc. and its divisions PCGS and PSA.
