Two decorative ceramic wall plates featuring feline subjects. The first is a 1974 Italian Veneto Flair earthenware plate, hand-etched and hand-painted with a Persian cat portrait against a yellow-orange ground. The plate features a heavy intentional crackle glaze finish and a gold-tone rim. It is hand-signed V. Tiziano on the lower right front. The reverse is hand-inscribed in gold ink reading CAT SERIES PERSIAN BY V. TIZIANO HAND ETCHED AND PAINTED IN ITALY BY VENETO FLAIR - 1974 THIS PLATE IS ONE OF A LIMITED EDITION OF 2000 PIECES NUMBER 235. The second is a 1976 West German Goebel ceramic plate from the Mothers Series, featuring a hand-painted high-relief molded depiction of a mother cat and kitten. The front bears an impressed signature reading G. Bochmann near the rim. The reverse features a blue printed backstamp reading 1976 SECOND EDITION Mothers Series ENTIRELY HAND PAINTED by Goebel W. GERMANY 1975, along with the number 52512/19 and a warning reading NOT TO BE USED FOR FOOD. Both plates include attached wire hangers.
