Tsunuki 2017 8 years old Ghost Series #25 - Sherry Hogshead no

A rare Japanese single malt from Mars Tsunuki Distillery, released as Ghost Series No. 25 and matured in the unique subtropical climate of Yakushima. This whisky was distilled in 2017, during the early production period of Tsunuki Distillery, and bottled in 2025 after 8 years of maturation. The whisky is a single cask, cask strength bottling, with an outturn of only 241 bottles worldwide. Whiskybase confirms the 2017 vintage, 2025 bottling, 8-year age statement, 58% ABV and 241-bottle outturn. The release is particularly interesting because it combines Tsunuki whisky with maturation in Yakushima, Japan's subtropical southern island. The whisky is described as a medium-peated Tsunuki single malt, with approximately 20 ppm peat, and was matured in a first-fill Sherry hogshead. It is also notable as the first Ghost Series release featuring a Sherry cask.
