Antique first-quality watchmaker’s pivot-turning lathe, presented in its original box labeled “Pivot Turning Lathe – 1st quality.” A precision instrument intended for work on pivots, arbors, and delicate parts of watch movements. Beautiful brass construction, accompanied by several pins, supports, and interchangeable accessories. This type of tool was used in watchmaking workshops for pivoting, lapping, and polishing small mechanical parts. An old set with a nice patina and signs of use appropriate to its age. An interesting piece for collectors of antique horology, precision tools, scientific instruments, and workshop equipment. Probably late 19th – early 20th century, circa 1880–1920.
