Tlatilco Culture 12th to 6th Century BC Terracotta Head...

Tlatilco Terracotta Head Fragment – 12th to 6th Century BC A finely modeled Tlatilco terracotta head fragment from Pre-Columbian Mexico, dating to the 12th to 6th Century BC. The fragment preserves the characteristic stylized facial treatment associated with Tlatilco ceramic sculpture, with carefully modeled features and an expressive appearance. The surviving surface displays natural age-related wear, mineral deposits and earthy tonal variations, emphasizing the hand-modeled character of the terracotta. Figurines of this tradition constitute an important part of the ceramic production of the communities that flourished in the Valley of Mexico during the Preclassic period and are particularly recognized for their distinctive representations of the human figure. Material: Terracotta Dimensions: 5.6 cm height Weight: 50.9 g Provenance: Acquired in Germany from a Danish private collection. We guarantee the authenticity of the pieces, backed by the combined experience of our experts spanning more than 40 years. A Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) will be sent digitally by email.
