This is a hand-knotted Oriental rug, made from durable natural materials. The method of knotting and the diversity of patterns make this rug a unique piece and emphasize its authentic and artisanal character. This beautiful Tibet rug is hand-knotted with the finest, unbleached wool sourced from sheep in the high Tibet region. This wool is naturally extra greasy due to the cold temperatures (it acts as an insulator for the sheep). When this wool is used in rugs, it not only provides a stunning extra sheen but also serves as a natural protective layer. Wool of better quality is (almost) nowhere to be found. Naturally, color variation is visible, due to the wool not being bleached before the first dye bath. This gives the rug an authentic appearance and contributes to the character of this rug that is full of stories.
