Thorens - TD 2001 Turntable

This is one of the last classic Thorens turntables in its original packaging (mint in box) Equipped with tonearm TP90 and pickup system ELAC 793 (OEM stylus). The opto-electronic auto-stop works perfectly. The Thorens TD 2001 offered high-end performance at a reasonable price. Its exceptionally well-crafted chassis featured a closed, and therefore highly rigid, plinth made of 16 mm thick solid wood. The design of the leaf-sprung sub-chassis was unique: Three leaf springs were positioned so that the center of mass—comprising the sub-chassis, platter, and tonearm base—ensured an even load distribution, which is essential for precise, wobble-free oscillation. The factory-fitted TP 90 tonearm with a TP 95 headshell and an effective mass of 17 g features a frictionless magnetic anti-skating mechanism and allows for the use of custom interconnect cables to the amplifier.
