Thermidor Automatic – Vintage Swiss Mechanical Watch – Incabloc – Date – Roman Numerals – 1970s–1980s A characterful vintage Thermidor Automatic, featuring a distinctive tonneau-shaped stainless steel case, Roman numeral dial and Swiss automatic mechanical movement. The watch immediately attracts attention through its strongly aged silver-tone dial, which has developed an extensive and highly individual tropical-style patina over the decades. Rather than presenting the uniform appearance of a restored dial, the surface displays natural tonal variations, spotting and oxidation that give this particular example a unique vintage identity. Large black Roman numerals surround the dial, complemented by luminous-style hour markers and hands, a contrasting red central seconds hand and a framed date window at 3 o’clock. The dial is signed Thermidor Automatic, Waterproof, Incabloc and Swiss Made. Condition Grade: B Condition Report This Thermidor Automatic is presented in Condition Grade B, with signs of age and use that form an important part of its vintage character. The most distinctive feature is undoubtedly the dial. Over time, the original silver-tone surface has developed natural patina, oxidation, spotting and irregular tonal changes, creating an individual tropical-style appearance. This ageing is clearly visible throughout the dial and should be considered part of the character of the watch rather than a pristine cosmetic condition. Despite the pronounced patina, the Thermidor signature, Roman numerals, minute track, date aperture and other dial inscriptions remain visible. The stainless steel case shows scratches, marks and surface wear consistent with age. The acrylic crystal also shows normal signs of use. The black leather strap is a later generic replacement. The watch has not been tested for water resistance; therefore, despite the original “Waterproof” inscription on the dial and case back, water resistance is not guaranteed.
