Highly collectible Japanese edition of The Beatles' legendary 1967–1970, better known worldwide as the "Blue Album", issued by Apple / Toshiba-EMI under catalogue numbers EAS-50023 / EAS-50024. The major attraction of this Japanese pressing is the spectacular translucent blue vinyl used for both records—a visually distinctive presentation unavailable on most international editions. Japanese Beatles coloured-vinyl issues have long developed a strong following among collectors, combining the high manufacturing standards associated with Toshiba-EMI with a presentation that commands attention on display. The deep blue vinyl complements perfectly the famous blue-tinted cover photograph, itself a recreation of the image used for Please Please Me, photographed years later at EMI House. 1967–1970 was originally compiled as the companion to 1962–1966 and covers arguably the most adventurous period of The Beatles' career: from the psychedelic experimentation of 1967 through the increasingly sophisticated studio work of the band's final years. Across the two LPs is an extraordinary 28-track selection spanning "Strawberry Fields Forever," "Penny Lane," "A Day In The Life," "I Am The Walrus," "Hey Jude," "Revolution," "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," "Come Together," "Something," "Let It Be" and "The Long And Winding Road." ⸻ Sleeve (VG+): The original Japanese gatefold sleeve remains a solid VG+, showing normal age-related handling and storage wear while still presenting very nicely overall. The striking blue artwork remains bright and immediately recognisable, with the iconic blue-tinted cover photograph well preserved. Inner Sleeve: Original inner sleeve included. Vinyl (VG+): Both blue-vinyl records grade VG+ throughout. The first record retains a strong original gloss and remains very respectable, with only normal light signs of previous play and handling. The second record likewise presents a good glossy appearance with only superficial signs of use.
