The AsCeNt - Christina Bilbili

The AsCeNt by Christina Bilbili Painting 27.6 x 39.4 :: This painting made it on a scratched canvas 70x100cm with acrylics. The painting is dominated by two powerful contrasting worlds. In the foreground an almost unreal vibrant green — lush saturated full of life and hope. It's not a realistic green it's emotional. In the background cool dreamy blues and turquoises — the mountains and sky are painted with soft sweeping brushstrokes like mist and wind. The blue feels vast calm and a little melancholic almost otherworldly. The sheep themselves are small touches of pure soft white with black faces which makes them pop against the intense green. And their shadows — long dark and dramatic — they anchor the whole scene. Light & Movement: The light seems to come from low on the right creating those long stretched shadows that lead the eye upwards. The whole composition moves diagonally from the bottom right corner up towards the distant blue mountains. It gives a feeling of a quiet journey a pilgrimage. Emotions / Feeling: For me it evokes: • Serene solitude & peacefulness: There's no noise no shepherd no rush. Just the quiet rhythm of walking. • Hope and perseverance: The little line of sheep walking steadily uphill towards the light and the open sky feels very symbolic — a small determined journey towards something bigger. • Freedom and smallness: The landscape is huge and dramatic compared to the animals. You feel both the freedom of that open space and how small and humble we are inside it. • A touch of nostalgia: The style is not photorealistic it's like a memory of a place or a dream of Scotland or Ireland :: Type: Painting Medium: Acrylic Style: Contemporary Subject: Animals Width: 27.6 Height: 39.4 Depth: 1 Weight: 2 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
