Teeling - Strong Ale Cask & 200 Fathoms Imperial Stout Cask - b

This lot contains 2 different Teeling Whisky expressions: The Teeling Small Batch Collaboration Galway Bay Strong Ale Finish is an Irish whiskey from Teeling, finished in a Strong Ale beer cask from the Galway Bay Brewery. This Teeling is a premium blend of malt and grain whiskeys, aged for approximately 6 years in ex-bourbon casks, followed by a 12-month finishing period in the Strong Ale casks. This small-batch release was bottled in August 2019 at 46% ABV. Teeling Stout Cask is the result of maturation in casks that previously held Stout, a popular Irish beer. Galway Bay Brewery borrowed bourbon casks from the Teeling Distillery to age their "Two Hundred Fathoms Imperial Stout," after which the casks were returned to Teeling, where they were then used to age whiskey. This "exchange" influenced both the beer and the whiskey. The beer casks impart strength and flavor to the inherently mellow Irish whiskey, resulting in this Teeling Stout Cask expression. The whiskey features deep notes of chocolate and coffee, with hints of vanilla and spice.
