Taperstick (2) - Art Metal - Puttos 1950

Pair of figurative Neo-Rococo style cherub candelabra - Patinated gold art-metal - Mid-20th century Pair of mid-century table candelabra, executed in the pure taste of Neo-Rococo / Louis XV (Napoleon III). Each piece features a cherub sculpted in full motion (putto or cherub), draped with a light veil, raising in one hand a moulded cup with ornamental geometric motifs designed to hold a candle. The sculptures rest on an elegant openwork tripod base, richly decorated with architectural volutes and pomegranate reliefs. The set benefits from a superb gold-toned patina finish that beautifully catches the light and gives a strong antique charm to the whole. Technical Sheet & Features: • Material: Metal alloy for art casting (regular) with a gold patina. The fabrication shows visible mold seam lines on the profile of the figures, characteristic of this artisanal casting method. • Provenance: France or Belgium • Era / Year: Mid-20th century (circa 1950 - 1960). • Colors: Shiny old-gold patina with natural grayish nuances and reflections where the base metal subtly appears beneath the reliefs. Dimensions & Weight: • Height: 20 cm • Base (tripod base): 10 cm x 10 cm • Total weight of the pair: 580 g Condition: Nice vintage condition. The two cherubs are structurally sound: no breaks, no missing limbs, and no deformation of the arms or the cups. The gold patina shows normal signs of use and small localized areas of gilding loss (notably on the faces, torsos and the reverse of the bases, visible in macro photos), which enhances the authenticity and charm of these decorative pieces. * The first presentation photograph of the lot is a scenario generated by artificial intelligence (AI).
