Table lamp - Toucan -1980s Postmodern Memphis Style - Plastic

Toucan Desk Lamp – 1980s Postmodern Memphis Style In excellent condition – No reserve. Iconic 1980s Toucan desk lamp, designed by H.T. Huang and produced by Huangslite. With its instantly recognisable toucan-inspired silhouette, sculptural black-and-white body and oversized curved “beak”, this lamp is a quintessential example of the playful Postmodern / Memphis-era design language of the 1980s. The upper section forms the characteristic beak and houses the original fluorescent light source underneath. The highly sculptural construction makes the lamp as much a decorative design object as it is a functional desk or reading lamp. H.T. Huang's Toucan lamp has become a sought-after example of 1980s collectible lighting and is particularly appealing to collectors of Postmodern, Memphis Milano and Space Age design. A true eye-catcher with strong sculptural presence. Specifications Designer: H.T.
