Table lamp - Classical Amphora - Silver plated brass

This distinguished Art Deco table lamp, dated to the first half of the twentieth century, combines classical elegance with the formal refinement characteristic of one of the most influential decorative movements of the last century. Made of silvered brass, it features a refined silhouette inspired by ancient classical amphorae, reinterpreted under the geometric and sophisticated aesthetic of the Art Deco period. The piece is crowned by a spherical white opal glass shade, whose perfectly rounded form provides balance and visual softness to the whole. This type of shade diffuses light evenly and pleasantly, creating a warm and elegant atmosphere that enhances the lamp’s decorative appeal. The central body adopts a stylized amphora shape, with harmonious proportions and an architectural profile that recalls the neoclassical models so appreciated during the 1920s and 1930s. The silvered metal surface, enriched by the patina acquired over time, gives depth and character to the piece. Various ornamental reliefs run along the transition zones of the body, incorporating decorative friezes inspired by classical motifs that add visual richness without breaking the sober elegance defining Art Deco. The stepped circular base provides stability and reinforces the composition’s verticality, while the contrast between the smooth metal surfaces and the engraved details creates an interesting play of textures. The result is a lamp with great aesthetic presence, capable of functioning as ambient lighting as well as a decorative accent piece. Its timeless design, the nobility of its materials, and the quality of its execution make this lamp an excellent example of the meeting between classical tradition and the decorative modernity of Art Deco, ideal for desks, consoles, sideboards, or interiors with vintage, classic, or eclectic inspiration.
