Table/desk clock - Kern & Söhne - Brass, Glass, Metal - 1950-1960

Vintage Kern 400-Day Anniversary Clock - German Torsion Clock for Restoration An authentic and rare Kern mechanical 400-day anniversary clock (torsion pendulum clock) made in West Germany by the renowned manufacturer **Kern & Söhne** during the 1950s–1960s. This is the highly collectible miniature "Midget" version of the classic Caravelle/Lantern style clock. The clock is being sold **for restoration / repair** (untested, no key included). ### Condition Report & Key Technical Features: * **Suspension Spring:** Excellent visual condition. The original flat suspension wire is **completely intact, straight, and free of bends or kinks**—a rare find since these wires are usually broken on vintage models. * **Movement:** The brass gear train and mainspring barrel appear complete and clean with a natural vintage patina and light oxidation, bearing the official **Kern & Söhne anchor logo (K&S)** stamped on the back plate. * **Pendulum:** Includes the original 4-ball torsion pendulum, which hangs correctly on the intact wire. * **Casing:** Original brass lantern case with bevelled glass panels. The glass panes are intact (one panel features a faint historic "XX" watchmaker/factory scratch mark). The brass frame shows age-related tarnishing and surface oxidation, perfect for a polishing project. * **Components:** Includes the bottom transport locking lever and all 4 original knurled leveling feet at the base. A wonderful and complete project piece for clock enthusiasts, collectors, or professional horologists looking to restore a premium miniature German anniversary clock. ## Attributes * **Object:** 400-day Anniversary Clock / Torsion Clock * **Model:** Midget (Caravelle / Lantern style) * **Manufacturer:** Kern & Söhne * **Period:** Mid-20th Century (approx. 1950-1960) * **Country of Origin:** West Germany (marked "Germany" on dial and stamped "K&S" on movement) * **Material:** Brass & Glass * **Mechanism:** Mechanical, 400-day movement (Torsion suspension) * **Condition:** For restoration / Not working (Untested, missing key, requires adjustment/service) * **Height:** ~15 cm (without loop) / ~16.5 cm (with loop) * **Width:** ~14 cm * **Depth:** ~10.5 cm * **Weight:** Approx. 1 - 1.5 kg The product will be professionally packed and sent safely to your address by local post.
