Tantalizing "Immobilized" Kuang-hsu Crown from Yunnan (t) CHINA. Yunnan. 7 Mace 2 Candareens (Dollar), ND (ca. 1911). Kunming Mint. In the name of Kuang-hsu (Guangxu). PCGS MS-62. cf. L&M-421A; K-169C; KM-Y-258.1; WS-0664. Variety with 4 circles under fiery pearl and 4 dots above dragon's right leg. A fairly RARE offering in this advanced level of preservation, the present nearly-Choice specimen glistens with great brilliance and flair, and is surpassed in the PCGS census by just four other examples, attesting to its exceptional quality. Emanating from the massive series of posthumous Kuang-hsu types, this grouping is now thought to date to the second decade of the republic, ca. 1920-25. Estimate: $8,000 - $12,000.
