Switzerland 1854/1862 - Classic Strubel Collection: 5

An attractive group of five imperforate Swiss “Strubel” stamps, featuring the embossed Sitting Helvetia design and spanning the 5, 10, 15, 20 and 40 rappen denominations. The contrasting brown, blue, rose, orange and green shades make a colourful display of this classic Swiss issue. All five stamps are used, with several prominent circular cancellations adding to their visual appeal. A silk security thread is present in each stamp, although its colour has not been reliably identified. A group for collectors of early Swiss stamps and those interested in studying Strubel papers, printings and cancellations.
