Paul Jackson Pollock was an American painter and a major figure in the abstract expressionist movement. He was widely noticed for his "drip technique" of pouring or splashing liquid household paint onto a horizontal surface, enabling him to view and paint his canvases from all angles. 6 x 7.75 inches paper; 4 7/8 x 6 7/8 inches plate. Private collection, Virginia, USA, 2005; Private Estate, North Carolina, USA. Great condition; mat burn around edges; top edge of the paper is cut unevenly and slightly frayed.
