Limited fourth edition, Tielt/Antwerp, L. Lannoo (1943) from the Lijsternestreeks. This is No. 9 of 20 copies. Set in Hollandsche Medievalletter on heavy Munster Velumpapier and signed by the author. Stijn Streuvels wrote the following personal dedication in the book to the publisher of the book series: "To Gilbert Grymonprez reciprocal service of author to publisher Stijn Streuvels April 1943". Elisabeth Ivanonsky provided the illustrations. Probably Streuvels had the binding affixed as a unique gift to the publisher. The light-brown binding is entirely made of calfskin or Morrocan leather (full leather) with cannelures on the spine. The spine is provided with inlaid red leather title panels with gold print and gilded decorative lines. The book is in very good condition. Only the leather binding shows some spots.
