Statue, Vintage messing paard - 16.5 cm - Brass, Wood

Vintage brass horse on a wooden base – elegant jumping model – circa mid-20th century Decorative and characterful vintage horse sculpture, made of gold-colored brass and placed on a dark wooden pedestal. The horse is depicted in an elegant, dynamic pose with one foreleg raised, beautifully detailed mane, tail and bridle. The combination of warm brass with the dark wood gives the sculpture a classic and timeless look. Similar brass horse sculptures on wooden pedestals are typically dated to the mid-20th century, often around the 1950s–1970s, and were popular as decorative sculptures within mid-century and classically styled interiors. Also on Catawiki brass horse sculptures from around 1950–1970 can be found with a similar cast finish, natural patina and light casting marks. Particularly beautiful are the anatomical details: the muscular chest, the incised mane, the clearly formed hooves and the finely rendered bridle. The elevated pose gives the piece a lively appearance and makes it a striking decorative object for a desk, sideboard, bookcase or display cabinet. Features: * vintage decorative horse sculpture * presumably mid-20th century * brass / copper alloy finish * warm gold-colored patina * dark wooden pedestal * dynamic pose with raised foreleg * detailed mane, tail and bridle * height approximately 16.5 cm * width approximately 17 cm * depth approximately 7 cm * maker not visible / unknown The sculpture is in used vintage condition.
