St Anthony of Padua - Valerie Vescovi

St Anthony of Padua by Valerie Vescovi Painting 11.5 x 36.0 :: St Anthony of Padua is a favorite Saint of mine. Growing up in the Catholic Church with the extremely beautiful art and visuals gave me a great appreciation for it all. It was a comforting presence in my childhood so I love to revisit it. Anthony was born and raised by a wealthy family in Lisbon Portugal and died in Padua Italy. Noted by his contemporaries for his powerful preaching expert knowledge of scripture and undying love and devotion to the poor and the sick he was one of the most quickly canonized saints in church history being canonized less than a year after his death. He was proclaimed a Doctor of the Church by Pope Pius XII on 16 January 1946. :: Type: Painting Medium: Oil Style: Classical Subject: Religious & Inspirational Width: 11.5 Height: 36.0 Depth: 0.5 Weight: 5 lbs Framed: no :: All art on Zatista is original and signed.
