SPAIN. Viceroyalty of New Spain. 1793-Mo FM 8 Reales. Mexico City

SPAIN. Viceroyalty of New Spain. 1793-Mo FM 8 Reales. Mexico City Mint. Calico-955, Yonaka-M8-93, KM-109. AU-58 (PCGS). Flashy and lustrous surfaces are minimally toned to allow ready appreciation of a frosty to semi-reflective finish from the dies. We note only light secondary toning in champagne-pink that is bolder on the obverse, and then again at the periphery, where it joins wisps of iridescent powder blue in a few isolated areas. The strike is trivially off center to 12 o'clock, but both sides show full border denticulation and are boldly to sharply defined at most design elements. A nice Spanish colonial 8 reales of Chares IV with much eye appeal. Provenance: From the Emerald Coast Collection. PCGS# 670031. Click here for certification details from PCGS.
