SOUTHERN AFRICA Record round trip London - Cape Town - London flight. On 14th Nov 1937, Flight Officer Arthur Clouston and Betty Kirby-Green took off from Croydon Airport and reached Cape Town on 16th Nov on what was then a record 45 hours & two minutes. Their return journey of 57 hours & 23 minutes was also record-breaking. This cover that was on those two flights has a GB 1½d cancelled London 21.NOV.37 Cape Town 16.NOV.37 and Cape Town Airport Wingfield 16.NOV.1937 cancels are on the cover. The cover has been signed by both Clouston and Kirby-Green.
