SOUTHERN AFRICA R.A.F RECORD FLIGHT Pilots Squadron Leader R. Gayford and Flight-Lieut. C. E. Nicholetts departed Cranwell on 6th Feb 1933 in an attempt to fly non stop to Cape Town, but after flying for 57½ hours they had to put down in Walvis Bay, S.W.A. At the time this was the longest flight on record. This cover cancelled Cranwell 6.FEB.33 has Walvis Bay 8.FEB.33 arrival cancels. Scarce.
