At the center of the piece, Mega Man, recognizable by his blue armor and his famous Mega Buster, escapes the pixelated aesthetics of his origins to take his place in a much rougher setting. Gestural painting, drips, graffiti, typographic collages, barcodes and graphic traces build an environment deliberately close to street art and urban posters. The composition also retains several references to Japan: red sun disk, traditional graphical motifs, Japanese characters, and a Daruma-inspired representation. These elements echo Capcom’s origins and the history of Mega Man, a character who appeared in the late 1980s and has since become a true icon of video games. On receipt, carefully remove it and lay it flat for 48 to 72 hours so it naturally regains its shape before framing.
