Descriptio Oil on canvas. Dimensions: 101 × 127 cm; with frame: 120 × 147 cm. Three-quarter portrait of Henrietta Boyle, Countess of Rochester, seated in an idealized landscape and elegantly dressed in a light blue gown adorned with pearls, ribbons, and rich fabrics. The sitter delicately holds a flower in her right hand. The composition follows models derived from Sir Peter Lely, evident in the elegant pose, the idealized treatment of the face, the arrangement of the drapery, and the integration of the figure into the landscape background. This is a later work, painted between the late 18th and early 19th centuries, based on prototypes of 17th-century English aristocratic portraiture. Identifying inscription in the lower right corner. The painting is housed in a Baroque-style gilt frame. Condition: generally good.
