Stunning Antique Singer Sewing Machine – Portable Hand-Crank Model – Early 20th Century Discover this magnificent hand-crank sewing machine from the famous Singer brand, an emblematic piece of the history of domestic sewing. This model is distinguished by its black cast-iron body, richly adorned with its original gold decals with elegant floral motifs typical of the Art Nouveau era. It is presented mounted on its original wooden base and accompanied by its domed protective wood cover in thermoformed wood (the Bentwood case), equipped with its wooden and metal carrying handle. Mechanical and aesthetic condition: Functionality: The machine operates perfectly from a mechanical standpoint. The side crank turns smoothly and drives the needle mechanism flawlessly. Aesthetic: Very good overall condition for its age. The gilding is well preserved and the wood has a superb period patina. Defect to note (complete transparency): As shown in the profile photographs, the wooden box has a slight play on one side, which prevents the cover from snapping or closing completely hermetically on that flank. This does not diminish the object's aesthetic beauty in presentation or its internal use.
